São Paulo – The Brazilian government has relaxed the requirements for the entry by air for foreign travelers. In the Federal Gazette published on Tuesday (5), Brazil took a further step in the relaxation of restrictions on the entry of foreigners by air to travelers from the United Kingdom, India, and South Africa. The countries had identified specific cases of variants that are now found in Brazil as well.
The decision, signed by the Chief of Staff, Justice and Public Security minister, Health minister, Infrastructure minister and the president, allows the entry of all foreigners, who will still be required to present a negative antigen test for COVID-19 taken up to twenty four hours before the flight. The test uses the virus protein to identify the disease.
Until the determination from October 2, it was required to present a RT-lab test. Now any of them can be used. The PCR test must be taken up to seventy two hours before the flight. Brazil requires no proof of COVID-19 vaccination.
It’s still required that travelers present proof of filling out the Traveler Health Declaration up to twenty four hours before the flight. The document points out health measures that must be taken while they are in the country. Entry by land is still forbidden for foreigner from any nationality.
