São Paulo – The aluminium sector in Brazil should have a surplus 22.4% greater in its trade balance in 2006, according to forecasts of the Brazilian Aluminium Association. Last year, the surplus in the segment was of US$ 2.4 billion, with US$ 2.9 billion exported. Brazil sold 959,800 tonnes of aluminium in 2005. For this year, the entity expects external sales of one million tonnes, which would mean revenues of US$ 3.5 billion.
