Brasília – Brazil will host celebrations of the World Environment Day, on June 5. The theme this year will be Green Economy: Does it Include You?
The announcement was made on Thursday (22), in Nairobi, Kenya, where the minister of Environment, Izabella Teixeira, met with the director of the United Nations Environment Programme for the Environment, Achim Steiner.
The commemorations are set for three weeks before Brazil hosts the Rio+20, a meeting to discuss the progress of sustainable development over the last 20 years, as well as the challenges for the environment.
Two decades ago, Brazil hosted commemorations of the World Environment Day during the Earth Summit.
