São Paulo – On Friday (9th) in Johannesburg, the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism, by means of the Brazilian Tourism Institute (Embratur), will launch the campaign O Brasil te chama (Brazil is calling you), for promoting the country as a tourist destination during the FIFA World Cup 2014. The event will be attended by the Brazilian president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, the minister of Tourism, Luiz Barretto, and the chairwoman of the Embratur, Jeanine Pires.
At the event, the Brazilian strategy for international promotion will be presented, as well as a film shot by filmmaker Fernando Meirelles and directed by Rodrigo Meirelles, that will be screened in several countries by channels accredited by FIFA to broadcast the World Cup matches, after the final match of the tournament taking place in South Africa.
The foreign communication strategy also includes a website containing information on the 12 Brazilian cities that will host the World Cup2014, in Portuguese, English and Spanish, uploading of videos on YouTube, advertising on printed media and tourism media vehicles, and social network actions.
