São Paulo – This Friday (7), the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism announced that the country will attend the General Assembly of the World Tourism Organization (WTO), affiliated to the United Nations, to be held from October 8 to 14 in Gyeongju, South Korea.
One of the subjects of the meeting is the development of high-end tourism, targeting the wealthy. A debate entitled “Successful tourist destinations: how to attract wealthy investors and attract tourists” will discuss new ways of attracting investment and visitors with high purchasing power.
Brazil will be represented by the National Secretary for Tourism Policies, Bel Mesquita. The guideline also includes the Millennium Goals, the development of responsible, sustainable and accessible tourism, implementation of the Global Code of Ethics for Tourism, the economic assessment of tourism, and knowledge acquisition and management within the industry.
