Brazil wishes to increase exports of industrialised coffee
The objective is to add value to the Brazilian product and increase revenues from sales abroad, currently mainly due to green coffee. Since a programme to stimulate the production of ground and toasted coffee – in 2002 – sales increased in 45.6%, going from US$ 5.7 million to US$ 8.3 million in 2004. The Arab market, which currently imports from Italy and Germany, is in the aim of Brazilian exporters.
