São Paulo – The Brazilian airline Gol had record net profit of US$ 85.0 million during the first quarter of the year. The value is 37.2% greater than the US$ 62.0 million, in current exchange rates, obtained in the same period in 2005. The net income increased by 46.5% between January and March in relation to the same months last year and reached US$ 407.9 million.
In the period, the company purchased three new aircrafts Boeing 737, inaugurated 55 new daily flights and launched four international destinations: Cordoba and Rosario, in Argentina, Montevideo, in Uruguay, and Asuncion, in Paraguay. Seats increased by 61.1%.
