Brasília – The estimate for grain production in the 2005/2006 crop, published today (03) by the National Food Supply Company (Conab), expects growth of up to 10% in the Brazilian production, when compared to last year. The forecast is that grain production should reach 124.9 million tonnes. Last year, the country produced 113.5 million tonnes.
These figures are part of the first study by the Conab. Another figure in the study is that there may be new growth in maize and soy crops, especially in the south of Brazil.
