Brasília – At the end of the fourth week in October cumulative exports by Brazil for the year are now at US$58.921 billion, and imports at US$38.953 billion, for a surplus of US$19.968 billion. According to minister of Development, Luiz Fernando Furlan, the surplus should close out the year above US$22 billion.
The ministry has just released trade figures for October showing that from January to October this year Brazil exported more than it did in all of 2002.
