Brasilia – The Brazilian Official Gazette this Wednesday (29) published the invitation to tender requesting the elaboration of studies for the concession of a stretch of highway BR-101 in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The stretch in question includes the RJ-071, locally called the Red Line, and the access to Presidente Costa e Silva Bridge. According to the invitation to tender, the concession includes the elevated road that connects the bridge to the Red Line, and the lower passage on Avenida Feliciano Sodré, east-west direction, passing over Praça Renascença in the city of Niterói.
The studies must consider the current and future vehicle demand in the access and adjacent roads, a research of users’ origin and destination, the roadwork required and associated costs, programs for maintenance, preservation and inspection, monitoring and associated costs, equipments, devices and systems necessary for operating the road, signalization, and reports on the impacts this intervention will have on the environment.
Companies interested in elaborating the study have ten days, as of the invitation to tender publication date, to apply for an authorization at the Ministry of Transport. After the selection, the chosen companies will have 120 days to deliver the projects to the National Land Transport Agency.
