Rio de Janeiro – The Brazilian industrial production saw a 0.5% decrease in the month of September compared with August. Compared with September of last year, there has been a 5.6% increase. From January to September this year, the sector has accumulated a 5.4% growth in comparison with the same period of 2006.
In the 12-month period ending in September (annualised inflation), industrial production grew by 4.8%, against 4.5% recorded in the period ending in August.
The data are part of the Monthly Industrial Survey, disclosed today (6th) by the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
