São Paulo – Brazilian leather exports increased by 26% during the first three months of the year over the same period in 2005 and yielded US$ 403 million to the tanneries in the country. In terms of volume, the increase was of 35%, according to information from the Association of Tannery Industries of the state of Rio Grande do Sul (AICSul). The increase happened mainly in the sales of wet blue leathers, first stage of tanning.
