São Paulo – Revenues from Brazilian exports of leathers and hides exports were up 22.7% July-on-July to US$ 197 million according to preliminary figures from the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade. Revenues remained level with June, when exports stood at US$ 197,8 million.
“Preliminary figures are usually lower than the actual ones, therefore exports should also exceed those of June this year,” according to the Confederation of Brazilian Hides and Skins Industries (CICB) in a press release.
Year-to-date through July, exports were up 17.9% from the same period last year. Revenues amounted to US$ 1.387 billion from January through July this year, as against US$ 1.177 billion from January through July last year.
