São Paulo – Brazilian poultry protein exports totaled 2.828 million tonnes in the first seven months of 2022, according to a report by the Brazilian Association of Animal Protein (ABPA) released this Thursday (4). The volume was 6% higher than in the same period last year. In terms of revenue, exports reached USD 5.620 billion, 33.3% more.
“The result confirms ABPA’s expectations of maintaining exports at levels above 400,000 tonnes per month until the end of the year, demonstrating solid global demand for the Brazilian product,” highlighted the president of ABPA, Ricardo Santin, in the release.
In July, exports stood at 405,300 tonnes, 4.5% lower than in the seventh month of 2021. In revenue, however, there was a 20.7% gain, with USD 892 million. The United Arab Emirates was the leading buyer, with 37,800 tonnes purchased, an 11% improvement. China clinched second place and imported 37,500 tonnes (-40.5%), and Saudi Arabia, came third, with 37,200 tonnes (+52.7%).
