São Paulo – The car factories installed in Brazil reduced by 1.2% their exports in April, in comparison to the previous month, period in which was registered the greatest volume of units sold to the foreign market. The information is from the National Association of Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea).
There were 71,540 vehicles sold against 72,394 in March. Against April last year the drop was of 7.5%. During the year, however, the sector accumulates an increase of 1.7%.
In the internal market, sales dropped 16.4% including national and imported vehicles, in comparison to March. Against April last year, the drop was of 4.7%, with 131,150 vehicles being licensed.
Even so, during the four months the volume surpasses by 7.9% the volume registered from January to April 2005, with 548,709 units sold, against 508,659 last year.
The production also decreased by 11.1% over March, with 204,943 vehicles. In comparison to April last year, there was a drop in 2.7%, but during the first four months, there was a 5% increase registered, when compared to the same period last year.
