São Paulo – Renault Brazil will participate for the first time in the Aïcha des Gazelles rally, 100% female automobile competition held in Morocco. The caravan will leave Paris, France, next Saturday (17th). The race itself will start on the 21st.
According to information from Renault Brazil, the Brazilian Assiane Adada and the French Valérie Vilatte, who works at Renault Brazil, will take turns as navigator and pilot of a Duster 4×4 sport utility vehicle. The rally will have contestants from 33 different countries. The Renault group sponsors six teams with 12 members. The members are from Mexico, Poland, Brazil and France.
According to a statement issued by the company, the 2,500-kilometre race is held in desert areas and will continue until the 31st. The race is currently in its 22nd edition. The participants will count solely on compasses and maps to orient themselves, as the use of GPS is vetoed. The arrival will take place in the city of Essaouira, on the Atlantic coast of Morocco.
