Brasília – Brazilians’ spending with international travelling totaled US$ 1.677 billion in July, a decline of 30.39% over the same month of last year, when it reached US$ 2.408 billion, reported this Tuesday (25th) the Brazilian Central Bank (BC). From January to July, these expenses totaled US$ 11.617 billion, against US$ 14.851 billion in the same period of last year.
Foreigners’ expenses travelling in Brazil also declined: it totaled US$ 468 million last month, against US$ 785 million in July of 2014. From January to July, expenses of people visiting Brazil stood at US$ 3.412 billion, against US$ 4.369 billion in the same period of 2014.
With these results, the international travelling account registered a deficit of US$ 1.209 billion in July, and a deficit of US$ 8.205 billion year-to-date.
