Brasília – Spending of Brazilians on trips abroad reached US$ 1.858 billion in January, according to figures disclosed by the Central Bank, on Friday (22). This is the greatest result recorded by the Central Bank for months of February in the historic series, which started being recorded in 1969. In the same month in 2012, spending totalled US$ 1.753 billion.
In the first two months, spending was US$ 4.151 billion, against US$ 3.754 billion in the same period last year.
In the second month of the year, revenues of foreigners on trips to Brazil reached US$ 622 million, as against US$ 624 million in the same month last year. In January and February, revenues totalled US$ 1.317 billion, as against US$ 1.290 billion in the same period in 2012.
