Brasília – The expenses of Brazilians travelling abroad are still on the rise, up to October, according to figures disclosed on Tuesday (23) by the Central Bank of Brazil (BC). With the stimulation of the depreciated dollar, last month, expenses reached US$ 1.692 billion and US$ 13.160 billion in the first ten months of the year. These results are greater than those observed in the same period in 2009, US$ 1.236 billion and US$ 8.703 billion, respectively.
In the accumulated result for the first ten months of this year, travel expenses abroad have exceeded the result for last year, which ended at US$ 10.898 billion.
Expenses of foreigners in Brazil are US$ 4.757 billion in ten months, against US$ 4.320 billion in the same period in 2009. In October alone, these expenses were US$ 436 million, against US$ 451 million in the same month last year.
With the result of Brazilian expenses abroad and expenses by foreigners in Brazil, the travel bill registered a negative result of US$ 1.256 billion in October, and US$ 8.402 billion in the first ten months of the year.
