São Paulo – The Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade announced yesterday (10) that 14 Brazilians were contemplated with the iF Product Design Award 2005, the main international design award that takes place every year, in Hanover, Germany.
One of the products, according to the ministry, won the "Gold" trophy, which is "considered the Oscar of design", in category "light fixtures". The winner was Fernando Prado with light fixture Luna, produced by company Lumini.
Other winners included Antonio Bernardes, from HB Adornos, Levi Girardi and his team from Gertec Telecomunicações, Edson Dantas Dias from Itautec and designer Guto Índio da Costa. The Brazilians were enlisted by program Design Excellence Brazil, the fruit of a partnership between the Brazil-Germany Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Brazilian Export Promotion Agency and the Ministry of Development.
