Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) issued the tender protocol – including a preliminary invitation for bids (IFB) and draft contract – for the 16th Exploration Block Bid Round, set to take place on October 10. According to the ANP, the documentation will be under public consultation through April 9, followed by a public hearing on the 10th at ANP’s central office in Rio de Janeiro.
The bid round will include 36 blocks in the Campos, Camamu-Almada, Jacuípe, Pernambuco-Paraíba, and Santos sedimentary basins, spanning a combined 29,300 square km. The ANP stresses that Campos Basin’s C-M-541 is a standout block, with a minimum signature bonus in excess of BRL 1.375 billion (USD 353 million). The agency said signature of the concession contracts to winning bidders is expected to take place in February 2020.
