São Paulo – Brazilian beef exports from January to July totaled USD 3.5 billion, up 11.1% over the same period of last year. The country shipped 844,000 tons, up 8.3% in the same comparison. The data was shown this Friday (17) by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply (MAPA).
The main markets for Brazilian beef in 2018’s first seven months were Hong Kong, China, Egypt, Chile, Iran, United States and Germany.
To the Arab countries, Brazil sent USD 514 million worth of beef, a 1.4% increase over the period from January to July of 2017. The country shipped to these countries 149,700 tons, up 15.8% in the same comparison, according to data by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
Egypt, the leading Arab market and third worldwide, imported USD 246 million worth of Brazilian beef, an increase of 19.58% over last year’s first seven months. The country imported 57,400 tons, up 41.2% in the same comparison.
