São Paulo – Brazilian animal protein company BRF signed a memorandum to be part of the Ishraq program for developing talents for the food and beverage industry among citizens of the United Arab Emirates. BRF has an industrial plant in the country’s capital Abu Dhabi and the Arab countries as one of its main markets.
BRF informed it was one of the 19 companies that signed the program’s memorandum, launched by the UAE Human Resources Development Council (EHRDC) and the UAE Food and Beverage Business Group.
The Brazilian company claims the program will support the professional qualification of Emirati citizens with tests, coaching, and guidance. “They will be able to contribute and actively participate in different functions of the sector, including production, within BRF,” stated the company.
The Ishraq program was announced at the Gulfood food and beverage show earlier this year to build a skilled workforce for the segment and fill the local skills gap existing in the industry. Each year, 500 citizens will be trained.
