Rio de Janeiro – Brazil’s economy was up 0.9% in the three months through January 2018 from the three months through October 2017.
So says the GDP Monitor from think tank Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), an anticipation of the official GDP result released on a quarterly basis by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE).
Year-on-year in the three months through January, GDP widened by 2.2%. In the 12 months through January, GDP climbed 1.2%. In January alone, Brazil’s GDP narrowed by 0.3% over December 2017.
