Brasília – Brazilian state and municipal agencies and corporations will be allowed to open foreign currency accounts to get loans from international agencies, Brazil’s National Monetary Council (CMN) decided on Thursday (27). The resolution became effective immediately.
According to the Central Bank (BC) of Brazil, the measure will make the authorization procedure for foreign credit operations easier. Loans from international agencies to the country, the states and municipalities are analyzed and authorized by the External Financing Comission (Cofiex) of the Ministry of Economy.
