São Paulo – The Palmeiras team has arrived in the United Arab Emirates for the FIFA Club World Cup, which started this Thursday (3). After the 14-hour trip, the delegation arrived in the capital Abu Dhabi on Thursday(3) afternoon, local time. Then the team held its first training session on Arab land at the Zayed Sports City stadium.
During the flight, the players did physical and mental activation work. After landing, upon arrival at the hotel in Abu Dhabi, the athletes attended a lecture on the rules of the Club World Cup. Coach Abel Ferreira commanded technical and shots training work on the field.
“We are all excited and confident about this new challenge. We are more prepared physically, which is essential; we were in a rush in the last edition [February last year, when the Brazilian team was eliminated in the semifinals, just eight days after winning the Copa Libertadores]. I hope this preparation can help the team’s performance, and this time we can win,” declared midfielder Gustavo Scarpa to Palmeiras’ official website.
