São Paulo – The Cairo Symphony Orchestra will perform the Brazilian Night concert on February 12 at 8 pm. The repertoire of Brazilian classical music includes “Bachianas Brasileiras nº 4” by Heitor Villa-Lobos, as well as pieces by Carlos Gomes, Francisco Mignone and other great names.
The event will take place in the Cairo Opera House (pictured) in the Egyptian capital city and is sponsored by the Embassy of Brazil in Cairo, the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) and the firm Amreyah Cement of the Camargo Corrêa Group.
The concert is part of the cultural program presented by the embassy in 2021 for the celebration of the bicentennial of the Independence of Brazil. The Cairo Opera House was founded in 1959 and is one of the most important classical music institutions in the Arab world. The Cairo Symphony Orchestra is directed by Egypt’s Ahmed El Saedi and features both Egyptian and foreign musicians.
Tickets range from EGP 65 to 120 (approximately USD 4 to 8). The doors open at 7 pm. The use of facemasks is mandatory as well as following all safety procedures like temperature measurement. Children are accepted from 7 years old.
