The minister of Science and Technology, Eduardo Campos, visited the Arab country yesterday to discuss partnerships in the construction of pipelines and in scientific cooperation in the oil and agricultural area. Apart from that, he had the objective of inviting country president Taya to the summit of Arab and South American countries.

The Ministry of Science and Technology will invest US$ 1.34 million to finalise the construction. The unit is being built in the city of Juazeiro and will produce sterile insects that will be used in pest combat in mango orchards. Brazil earned US$ 370 million with fruit exports last year, of which US$ 64.3 million correspond to mangoes.
