The city presented last week the “Muslim-Friendly Foz do Iguaçu – Halal Tourism Guide,” with information about restaurants and hotels fit to welcome Muslim tourists to the city. The Arab-Brazilian Chamber and CDIAL Halal are partners in Foz’s efforts to become a halal destination.

The Moroccan ambassador to Brazil, Nabil Adghoghi, expects that the resumption of the Royal Air Maroc route on December 7 will increase travel by Brazilian tourists to Morocco and vice versa. The foreign ministers of both countries have recently outlined the next steps in the bilateral partnership.

The Moroccan National Tourist Office (MNTO) opened in May a center in São Paulo to promote the country as a travel destination to Brazilians. The nonstop route between Casablanca and São Paulo is expected to encourage travel.

Airlines can submit projects for the second round of the International Tourism Acceleration Program. They can add new routes connecting destinations in Brazil to foreign countries or increase seat capacity. A public investment of roughly USD 300,000 is forecast.

At meeting in Dubai, trade body IATA said the passenger number is expected to be a record beating the 2019 high. Revenues are forecast to rise to unprecedent USD 996 billion, but airlines face a sharp rise in costs and challenges related to emissions.
