A study by the Ministry of Tourism and Getúlio Vargas Foundation shows that executives in the sector forecast growth of 16.7% in company revenues this year, as well as the increase in jobs in the trade. The 92 largest companies in the sector were heard, and together they had revenues of 34 billion Brazilian reals (US$ 19.8 billion).

The Great Brazil Express starts operating in April this year. Official inauguration took place in the city of Morretes, on the coast of the southern Brazilian state of Paraná, and opens a new niche for the tourism market in the country. The composition is going to run a distance of 500 kilometres in the state and the forecast is to attract 2,100 foreign tourists per year.
An agreement between the Brazilian Institute of Gems and Precious Metals and the Ministry of Tourism forecasts the establishment of tourist routes in the gems, jewel and precious stone circuits of the states of Minas Gerais (SE Brazil) and Rio Grande do Sul (S). The idea is to attract foreigners connected to the sector, in the business area, as well as geologists, gemmologists and even museum representatives.
