During the Brazil-Sudan Forum, which took place in Khartoum, representatives of the government, sector organisations and of the government of Brazil spoke about the field of agriculture in the country and about the business opportunities. One of the visitors at the Arab Brazilian Chamber stand in the Cairo International Fair was businessman Heydar Maktabi, of Lebanese company Hassan Maktabi & Sons, which trades Oriental carpets. He is interested in attending trade fairs in Brazil to showcase his products.
Brazil is the ninth country with the largest number of people who open businesses in the world. There are around 15 million initial entrepreneurs, who are implementing their business or who have been running it for 42 months at the most. They correspond to 12.72% of the adult population of 118 million Brazilians aged from 18 to 64.
At Cairo International Fair, which began yesterday, around 20 businessmen visited the Arab Brazilian Chamber stand, seeking information about the cosmetics, agricultural machinery and tool sectors.
The event, which is multi-sector, is going to count on institutional participation of the Arab Brazilian Chamber. Egypt is one of the main trade partners of Brazil in the Arab world. Last year, the country was the second main importer of Brazilian products, with US$ 1.24 billion.
Renk’s Industrial, headquartered in São Paulo, southeastern Brazil, is after importers in the Arab market and has already started making contact in Dubai. Foreign sales represent 50% of company revenues. The organisation already exports to the United States, England, France, Germany and Mexico.
Company HTM, a maker of personal hygiene products from Jordan, sent two executives to Brazil to provide the opening of a local base. They should be in the country up to the middle of next week and are going to meet lawyers, potential distributors and are also going to search for a local office. The next step will be the installation of a factory.
Representatives of the Elloumi group are planning to establish a factory of electric cables for the automobile industry. To them, Brazil is the right place in which to set up an export platform in South America.
New Max, a maker of ingredients for the food industry, launched a powdered milk based on soy three months ago. Now the company plans to enter the foreign market starting with the Arab world. Company representatives were at the Arab Brazilian Chamber seeking information about the region.
The Federation of Industries of the State of Minas Gerais, with the support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, is going to take a delegation of businessmen to the United Arab Emirates and Egypt between the 29th of March and 9th of April. The mission will be multi-sector and the objective is to prospect and sell to that market.
