There are many work opportunities for Brazilian construction companies in the United Arab Emirates. The statement was made by the manager of the Brazilian mission in the sector that is currently in the country, Basílio Jafet. According to him, the Brazilian businessmen are discovering, during the trip, the pathways for participating in construction projects in the Arab country. Yesterday, the group visited the Emirates Palace, a seven-star hotel in Abu Dhabi.

The Hotel Show, a trade fair for the hotel sector, ended yesterday (05) in the United Arab Emirates. Several Brazilian companies closed sales at the fair. Bergan and Perflex sold a container of sinks and taps, and Peck Foods closed a US$ 15,000 deal for ostrich leather. Many other deals are underway.

The Brazilian Sarquis Samara, a maker of furniture and decoration pieces, will establish his own store in Dubai within two months. He is one of eight Brazilian businessmen participating in The Hotel Show, a fair for hotel products and services that started last Sunday in the United Arab Emirates.

While visiting the country, the businessmen participating in the mission to North Africa opened routes for sales and were interested in facilities for the installation of industrial enterprises. ‘The state of relations between Brazil and Tunisia has already advanced to a new level,’ stated the marketing vice president at the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Rubens Hannun, who is heading the delegation.

The announcement was made yesterday during a seminar with the delegation of Brazilian businessmen that is in the Arab country for the last phase of the trade mission to North Africa. The objective is to seek a balance in bilateral trade, currently very favourable for Brazil. Egypt is also seeking investment with the opening of new industrial zones turned to businesses of specific countries.

The marketing vice president at the organization, Rubens Hannun, met yesterday with the president of the Egyptian news agency, Abdalla Hassan. They discussed the possibility of an agreement for the exchange of journalistic material, exchange of professionals and expansion of the flow of information between Brazil and the Arab world.

Eight Brazilian companies are going to participate in The Hotel Show, a fair for hotel products and services that kicks off in Dubai next Sunday (3) and will continue until Tuesday (5). In a stand organised by the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce, the companies will offer products ranging from ostrich meat to furniture, granite, chandeliers, sinks, and bathroom metals.

The central region of Tunisia, which also includes the cities of Monastir, Mahdia and Kairouan, has 1,462 industries, being 886 exporters and 700 foreign. Business opportunities there were presented on Friday (01) to the Brazilian businessmen who are currently on a mission to North Africa.

Medigrain, which sells agricultural commodities, wants to import 200,000 tonnes of maize and 100,0000 tonnes of soy chaff per year. The company sells its produce to animal feed factories in Tunisia and in Syria. The Jaballah Olive Oil company, on the other hand, wants to sell olive oil, in bulk or packaged, directly to the Brazilian market.

A group of 25 businessmen, including representatives of real estate developers and companies, finance agents, real estate agencies, and lawyers, is going to visit large construction works and companies in the Emirates this week, with the objective of seeking business opportunities. The trip will be organised by the FIABCI/Brasil with support of the Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.

This was one of the main themes of the conference held yesterday in Tunis, an opening event for the visit to Tunisia of the Brazilian trade mission to North Africa. In all, 118 Tunisian businessmen attended the conference. Organisations in the country announced that they will organise a mission to Brazil in December.

The event, which begins on Saturday, will count on the participation of Brazilian construction company Andrade Gutierrez, of Grendene, one of the largest shoe producers in Brazil, and Frigorífico Minerva, a slaughterhouse, among other companies in the furniture and food sectors. The Brazilian stand, to include seven companies, will be organized by the Arab Brazilian Chamber.
