Rio Sol, wine produced by ViniBrasil in the São Francisco Valley, in the Northeastern state of Pernambuco, has already reached Dubai. Exported to more than 20 countries, the drink is part of the menu at the luxurious hotel Burj Al Arab, in the United Arab Emirates.

Artisans from the North of Brazil are transforming products like seeds, shells and fruit pits in bio-jewels. The pieces, which receive fine finishing, but are made from products of the forest, are sold in the internal and external markets.

This was one of the conclusions of the seminar about textile trade between the two countries, which took place yesterday (22) at the Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit). The idea is to provide incentives to sales of the Egyptian long staple and extra long staple cotton to Brazil and to promote the exports of the Brazilian medium staple cotton to Egypt. The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Federation of Industries of the State of Santa Catarina presented, during a seminar in the city of Florianópolis, capital of the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina, their plans for organization of a construction sector trade delegation to three Arab countries in October and November. Around 100 businessmen from Santa Catarina participated in the meeting.

At Art Mundi, an international handicraft fair that is taking place in the southeastern Brazilian city of São Paulo, it is possible to find various Arab products, like narghiles and marquetry furniture, and articles made by Brazilian Indians, among them necklaces, bracelets and mats. The fair will continue up to Sunday.

The Brazilian Textile and Apparel Industry Association (Abit) and the Egyptian Embassy are going to promote, on August 22, a seminar to discuss sector trade relations between both countries. The meeting is open to people interested in the theme and is free. Registration should be done through the Abit.

The Barbacoa group, which has 16 barbecue restaurants in Brazil and in Japan, intends to open another two units abroad. The company is preparing a business format for the international market, and it should be ready within the next three months. There are already Arab businessmen interested in opening brand restaurants in their countries.

Two representatives of El Sewedy Cables, a maker of electric material in Egypt, were in Brazil up to yesterday searching for partners for an industrial enterprise. They visited 35 companies and institutions and found four businessmen with potential for the business. The company intends to invest US$ 50 million in the country.

At the Arab Brazilian Chamber, consultant Arvind Chaddha, from Dubai, discussed the franchising market in the region yesterday (08). According to him, there is space for Brazilian franchises. The formula for success, he says, is to offer good products, prices and to have shops with a good environment.
