Rio de Janeiro – Cattle slaughter was up 3.8% in Brazil in 2017 – after having gone down for three straight years – to 30.83 million head of cattle. The number was made public this Wednesday (21) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) in its quarterly survey of animal slaughter.
The study also shows poultry slaughter sliding by 0.3% from 2016, to 5.84 million head of poultry, after increasing for four years back-to-back, Agência Brasil reported.
