Brasília – The Brazilian Central Bank maintained its growth projection for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) at 4.8%, this year. The estimate was taken from the Quarterly Inflation Report, disclosed today (25th) by the Central Bank. The previous report had been issued in March.
The projection is made based on the assumption that the basic interest rate (Selic) will remain at 12.25% per year, and that the exchange rate for the dollar will continue to be at 1.65 real. This year, the Selic was readjusted by half a percentage point in each of the two meetings held by the Monetary Policy Committee (Copom).
