Brasília – The Central Bank (BC) revised up its 2019 and 2020 forecast for the Brazilian economy growth, as per its Quarterly Inflation Report made public this Thursday (19). The growth forecast for the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2019 went from 0.9% to 1.2%. The 2020 GDP growth forecast was revised up from 1.8% to 2.2%.
According to BC, the adjustment in the 2019 forecast “reflects the Q3 results made public by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), the revision of the GDP historical series and the available sectoral data set on the current quarter.”
For 2020, BC says that this larger economic drive is contingent to the continuity of Brazilian economy reforms and adjustments.
