São Paulo – The Arab Brazilian Chamber of Commerce and the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, based in Saudi Arabia, signed a cooperation agreement in the city of São Paulo on this Monday (24th). The agreement aims to increase trade between the two countries.
For such, the parties commit to fostering business relations, exchanging information on trade regulation and other matters of interest to businessmen, providing assistance to business delegations and entrepreneurs on individual trips, and disclosing fields that offer opportunities for joint ventures and investment.
They also commit to providing information on the trustworthiness of companies interested in doing business in both countries, conducting market surveys on the most competitive sectors in the two nations, and encouraging cooperation in tourism, technology, education, among other fields.
The city of Jeddah, on the Red Sea coast, is the main business hub in Saudi Arabia, just as São Paulo is the leading economic centre in Brazil.
The agreement was signed by the president of the Arab Brazilian Chamber, Salim Taufic Schahin, and the vice president of the Jeddah Chamber, Mazen Batterjee. Also in attendance were the vice presidents of the Brazilian organization, Helmi Nasr (Foreign Relations), Rubens Hannun (Marketing) and Wladimir Freua (Foreign Trade), its secretary general, Michel Alaby, managing director, Nahid Chicani, the Saudi businessman Hani Abdulaziz Saab, and the public relations of the Saudi embassy in Brazil, Wail Hababi.
