São Paulo – Brazilian coffee exports revenues increased 23.8% year-to-date through April over the same period of 2014, according to date released by the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Council (CeCafé). Sales to the Arab market also had increase in revenues in the same period, of 3.3%.
Brazil fetched US$ 2.2 billion with coffee shipments to international markets from January to April. The volume shipped was of 11.9 million bags, also an increase, although smaller, of 2.6%. The lower growth of volume exported in comparison revenues generated means that there was a raise in coffee prices dealt in these months.
Sales to the Arab market also experienced similar dynamics. There was an increase in revenues from exports, but a decline in volume shipped, which also signals higher prices. The decline in shipments was of 12%, since Brazil exported to Arabs 541,800 bags of 60 kg from January to April of 2014 and 474,900 bags in the same period of this year, according to CeCafé.
