Brasília – The prices of commodities, or international traded primary products, went up in Brazil last month. The Commodities Brazil Index (IC-Br), issued monthly by the Brazilian Central Bank, climbed by 6.22% in November from October. The index slid by 3.99% in the 12 months through November and by 5.20% year-to-date through November.
The IC-Br tracks the fluctuations in commodity prices, denominated in Brazilian currency (real), covering items which are relevant to consumer price dynamics in the country.
Last month, energy commodities’ prices were up 2.15%, with metals prices hiking by 14.14% and agriculture and livestock commodities up 4.97%.
