São Paulo – The companies from the Industrial Hub of Manaus, in the northern Brazilian state of Amazonas, had revenues 40.43% greater in the first two semesters this year in relation to the same period in 2005. Revenues were of US$ 3.12 billion, against US$ 2.22 billion registered last year. The information is from the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade.
The electronic products and IT goods sector headed the growth, with 36.17% and earned US$ 1.57 billion. Amongst the main products manufactured are the coloured television sets, with a production of 1.95 billion units and revenues of US$ 413.83 million, cellular phones, with 3.35 million units and sales worth US$ 305.39 million, and CDs, with 34.9 million units and US$ 105 million in revenues.
