São Paulo – The brand of hair cosmetics from São Paulo Anna Haven signed an agreement for the development and sales of an exclusive shampoo for a distributor in Kuwait. The deal was made during the fair Beautyworld Middle East that took place in May of this year, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, which the company attended for the first time. The participation in the fair also netted a deal with a Saudi Arabia distributor.
“We created an exclusive shampoo, Coral Brasil, for the client in Kuwait. Usually, hair straightening is done in two to three stages. The shampoo has the three stages combined in one product. The hair treatment saves time and work and the hair straightening lasts for three months”, says Augusto Loche, the brand’s export manager. Abroad, Anna Haven only works with distributors, which resell their cosmetics to salons and spas.
According to Loche, it was a request by the client that led the brand to develop this product and sell it exclusively to them. “We developed it and sent them the samples. They tested it and approved. So, they sent in an order”, he explains. The first shipment is already on its way to the Middle East: 8,640 shampoo bottles of 500 ml each. “Since they liked it, I’m taking the opportunity to show them the other products of the line to try to generate other orders”, says Loche.
The participation in the fair in Dubai also generated other agreement, with a distributor in Saudi Arabia. Loche said that the first container with their products arrived at its destination at the end of July. It carried around 17 tons of cosmetics with items such as hair mask and shampoo for color correction, hair conditioners and sealants for hair straightening, hydration products and protection, finishers and argan oil products for shine and smoothness.
“Besides the beauty area, the brand also focuses on the health of the scalp and the entire hair length. It’s a differentiated line”, says Loche on the main features presented by the brand’s cosmetics. Some of Anna Haven’s products have Arabic labels and the company is planning to launch its website in Arabic also.
Anna Haven produces around 150 tons of products per year. From this total, 16.5% is sent abroad. The plan, however, is to reach 38% in exports in the first six months of 2017.
Currently, Anna Haven’s main market abroad is Italy. The brand also exports to Romania, Spain and Mexico, and is prospecting the United States, Malta, Portugal and Chile markets.
In the Arab world, Loche says that he is working to bring the company’s products to Egypt. He said he’s already presented the products portfolio to a potential distributor in the country and opened negotiations. In Lebanon, the Brazilian company is negotiating the production and sales of cosmetics under the client’s own brand.
Loche evaluated Beautyworld positively, saying that it’s possible to visit the fair with meetings scheduled beforehand, since the event’s website allows for exhibitors to display their products online and to contact in advance importers that will visit the fair. According to the executive, Anna Haven will attend the fair for the second time in 2017.
The manager also says that he’s considering going to next year’s edition of the Doha Beauty Show, a beauty event whose first edition will be this October in Qatar.
Anna Haven was founded in 2011 with headquarters located in Guarulhos, in the greater São Paulo area. The brand has 69 employees.
