Brasília – Brazil’s National Energy Policy Council (CNPE) approved this Friday (4) the 5th Pre-Salt Oil and Gas Block Bid Round. According to the Brazilian Ministry of Mines and Energy, the auction is expected to take place on September 28, but still pends approval from the president of Brazil.
The blocks will be tendered under production-sharing agreements, whereby the Brazilian government will be entitled to a share of output.
Four blocks in the Santos and Campos basins will be auctioned. The Ministry also said that the 4th Production-Sharing Round will take place on June 7, with four other areas in the same basins due for auction.
