São Paulo – Brazil improved its position at the Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report, which was made available this Thursday (6) by the World Economic Forum. The index analyses 14 aspects of tourism in 136 countries. Brazil stands at the 27th position, is the first within South America and leads the world ranking in natural resources. In 2015, the country came at 28th place.
“Investments made in the country for the cycle of mega events – Confederations Cup, World Cup and Olympic Games – were decisive factors for the country to climb from 51th in 2013 to 27th in only four years. We improved a great deal in the period, but there’s still a lot to be done. We will work promptly in each of these dimensions to place Brazil in an even more competitive position in the travel sector,” said the minister of Tourism, Marx Beltrão, in a statement by the minister.
