São Paulo – The 41st Couromoda, a shoe and accessory fair due from January 13th to 16th in São Paulo, is expecting buyers from 62 countries, according to information released by the organizers. Couromoda is expecting 85,000 people, including importers and Brazilian buyers. Arab retailers and distributors, from countries like Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, usually attend.
The visitors will see 2,000 new collections at an 80,000 square metre area at Parque Anhembi. According to the organizers, the fair is a reference to the industry worldwide; 35% of annual sales 35% are set up at the event. The fair features women’s, men’s and children’s shoes, purses, sports items, and fashion accessories for the 2014 autumn/winter season and the mid-season.
Couromoda features several parallel events. One is São Paulo Prêt-à-Porter, a fashion business week for the textile industry. It will take place from January 12th to 15th at Expo Center Norte, near Anhembi. The event will feature 500 exhibiting brands and 24,000 visitors are expected, including retailers, distributors and importers.
The Brazilian Footwear Congress will be held on January 12th at Holiday Inn Parque Anhembi. The topics include advertisement and communication, sales point architecture, and purse and shoe market trends. One of the speakers will be Hugo Rodrigues, vice president of advertising agency Publicis, who will discuss how to turn consumers into multipliers.
This edition will feature the project Noites de Confraternização (Get-Together Evenings) for ehxibitors, representatives and storeowners, a space in which for participants to meet in the evening, after the fair, and the campaign “Ótimos Negócios, Todos os Dias” (Great Deals Everyday), including a raffle for two brand new cars on the last day of the fair. A website, Couromoda Viagens, has been created for the event, offering visitors special conditions for purchasing air tickets, hotel reservations, and shuttle services (www.couromodaviagens.com.br, in Portuguese).
