Rio de Janeiro – Forecasts for a record grain crop keep widening. As per the June edition of the Systematic Survey of Agricultural Production (Levantamento Sistemático da Produção Agrícola – LSPA), made public this Tuesday (11) by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), total output of cereals, legumes and oilseeds will amount to 240.3 million tons.
Besides being an all-time high, the volume is 30.1% higher than last year’s 184.7 million tons. The new forecast exceeds the one from May by 1.7 million tons. Soy and maize outputs are expected to be the highest ever.
