São Paulo – The Casa Clássica (Classic House) exhibition, promoted by decoration and antique shop Ravioli Casa, from São Paulo, includes Egyptian furniture. The establishment is in São Paulo, on one of the most luxurious streets in the city, and organizes, every year, exhibitions of classic furniture. The Casa Clássica exhibition this year goes on up to November. It includes, Egyptian products and also furniture and decorations from countries like England, France, Italy, the United States, China and Japan.
"It is a decoration event where several environments show a house with the glamour of the past," said Bettina Ravioli, who owns the shop together with her husband, Ricardo Ravioli. From Egypt the items presented include dressers, bedside tables, crystal cupboards, desks, chests of drawers, side tables, centre tables and hall tables. The products, according to Bettina, are bought from Egyptian carpenters. "We bring them ourselves, choosing one by one," she explained. The prices? From 1,000 Brazilian reals (US$ 500) to 8,000 reals (US$ 4,000).
The products used at the exhibition are part of the Ravioli Casa collection, normally acquired at auctions, fairs and antique shops in New Jersey, New York, Paris, Firenze and Lucca. The shop sells reproductions in French style, made in Egypt, and in English style, made in Thailand, as well as replicas from China and the United States, and a rereading of classic styles made in Brazil. For the exhibition, decoration, architecture and landscaping professionals design the environments. Some products are made by Ravioli Casa suppliers.
The theme of Casa Clássica this year is "Mentality, a parallel between the art of being a mother and decorating a beautiful home". The theme was chosen because Bettina, the owner, had her first baby in February this year. "Motherhood inspired me," she said. Sources for inspiration are the rooms of successful women who are also mothers, like television presenter Angélica, actress Angelina Jolie, singer Madonna, Michelle Obama, the wife of current US president, journalist Claudia Boechat and actress Regina Duarte, among others.
Ravioli Casa sells antiques and new furniture in classic style, at prices ranging from 10 reals (US$ 5) to 10,000 reals (US$ 5,000). One of the owners, Ricardo Ravioli, has another shop, Lucca Antiques, at D&D Shopping, in São Paulo.
