São Paulo – The Global South-South Development Expo will open next Monday (28th) in Nairobi, Kenya. The event is organized by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) in partnership with the United Nations Office for South-South Cooperation, and aims at exchanging successful experiences and local solutions to global issues. The exhibition will continue until November 1st.
“Some of the most extraordinary answers and solutions to environmental sustainability and sustainable development in the 21st century are today emerging from the South. The Expo is an opportunity to showcase these catalytic and forward-looking projects, transformations and ideas that can underpin a transition towards an inclusive Green Economy for over seven billion people, rising to nine billion by 2050,” said the United Nations undersecretary general and UNEP executive director Achim Steiner.
