Brasília – Development, Industry and Foreign Trade minister Fernando Pimentel said today (4) that the Mercosur “is heading to become one of the most important blocs in the world”. According to him, relations between the Mercosur and countries in South America and the rest of the world are growing.
“Over the years, we have also increased relations between the bloc and other countries in South America and the world. We have expanded much in the point of view of political integration. This important mechanism should further increase the integration of the continent in the establishment of a strategic alliance between nations. We are on the route to become one of the most important blocs in the world,” he finished off.
Pimentel is participating in a debate in the Foreign Relations and National Defence Committee (CRE) of the Federal Senate. The Development minister also pointed out the volume of trade agreements and explained that Brazil is in the media in other global economies.
According to him, Brazil currently has trade relations with 18 countries in the world. The United States have them with 20, Russia with 19, India with 13, Canada with 11 and China with 10. “We are in the media worldwide and are no different from other countries in terms of trade and economic relations,” he said.
