Rio de Janeiro – In 2014 there were approximately 41,200 industrial businesses in Brazil with 30 or more workers each. At their 51,400 manufacturing units, these businesses made 3,441 different types of products, whose sales grossed a combined BRL 2.2 trillion in that year.
The figures are from the survey Pesquisa Industrial Anual – Produto (PIA Produto 2014), released by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE) this Wednesday (19). All of the products are ranked by total sales value.
The IBGE’s survey shows that diesel was the highest-grossing product in 2014, having accounted for BRL 75.1 billion, or 3.5% of total industry revenues.
