São Paulo – Dubai Film and TV Commission has launched this Sunday (22nd) phase one of a new system designed to facilitate film productions in the emirate in order to boost media production in the city. Information was released on a communiqué by the organization.
The new system will allow local production companies to submit, track and pay for permits online, eliminating the need for in-person visits. Location owners will also be able to review and approve detailed requests at the click of a button.
Furthermore, local production companies and location owners will be able to track the status of active requests, track history of previous requests, and save and retrieve filming permit requests online
“We currently process over 1,000 permit applications per year, and expect that number to rise with our concerted efforts to promote Dubai as a production destination,” said Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission, according to the statement.
“The automated portal is key to improving our efficiency and streamlining the processes that facilitate Dubai’s growth as a regional and international media production hub,” he added.
